7 Money Podcasts to Cozy Up With (That’ll Make You Smarter & Richer)

Hi Sheconomist Insider 👋 It’s Thamina, Founder of The Sheconomist. This is your bi-weekly dose of celebrating the female economy where I help ambitious, purpose-driven women like yourself flip the script on money, career & wellbeing conventions so you can live life on your own terms.

The Future of the Content Economy

beehiiv started with newsletters. Now, they’re reimagining the entire content economy.

On November 13, beehiiv’s biggest updates ever are dropping at the Winter Release Event.

For the people shaping the next generation of content, community, and media, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

🧪 Freedom Formulas

I’ve been spending less and less time on social media lately, and it’s made me question everything.

Which is a little ironic, considering I work at a professional social media company and have first-hand experience of how it changes lives everyday.

And that I’m still planning on leveraging social to continue to build my business on the side.

(btw, you reading and sharing this newsletter with your friends is directly contributing to that dream. 🥹)

But the truth is: When I look back at the happiest moments of my life in recent years, not a single one involved an algorithm.

☀️ My digital detox in Costa Rica in 2023.
🎂 My 30th birthday surrounded by family in Tuscany.
🦁 Driving across the red sand dunes of Namibia earlier this year.

Meanwhile, online? We’re exhausted.

Creators with 7-figure followings are burnt out. TikTok influencers are posting 5-10x per day just to stay “relevant.” And now we’re competing with AI that can generate 100 Reels before you even finish your first draft.

Where does that leave us?

Maybe it’s time for a new kind of ambition.

These days, I keep coming back to one idea: We’re not just craving content. We’re craving connection.

There’s a reason the most powerful rooms aren’t Facebook groups. They’re around dinner tables. On retreat. In curated, in-person conversations where real trust can grow.

The more polarization I see online - driven by Zuck, Elon & Co. - the more I believe we’re on the brink of a renaissance.

One where “social” means depth, not dopamine.

Where we bring back salon culture. Where we actually learn how to talk to people with different worldviews, instead of yelling at them from our ideological corners.

(I say this as a liberal millennial who’s lost friendships over politics and knows I’ve been guilty of painting people with too broad a brush.)

So here’s my question for us all:

What would your career, your life look like if it wasn’t built for the algorithm?

And what if the rooms that matter most… can’t be posted at all?

Curious to hear your thoughts. Have you felt this shift too?
