Layoffs aren’t personal.
But the impact always is.
Two weeks ago, my company announced layoffs.
And while I wasn’t directly impacted, many friends and teammates - people I deeply respect - were.
Here’s what I want to say to them (and to anyone navigating the emotional whiplash of corporate life right now):
💔 You are allowed to grieve.
💪 You are allowed to rage.
🌱 And you are allowed to take this as the catalyst you didn’t ask for but might someday be grateful for.
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
Stability is an illusion.
The only constant is you - your values, your vision, your boundaries.
And speaking of boundaries…
⚠️ If you’re being laid off, know this:

Severance packages can and should be negotiated.
Don’t just sign, consult a professional.
This is not the time to “be grateful.”
It’s the time to advocate for yourself.
You don’t owe anyone your peace, your health, or your weekends in exchange for a paycheck.
What you do owe yourself?
✨ Rest before the rebuild.
✨ Self-trust before the strategy.
✨ A future that feels like freedom, not just “success” on paper.
To everyone affected, reach out.
I’ll advocate for you, serve as a reference for your Next Play, and connect you to my network.
And to everyone watching from the sidelines: don’t wait for a layoff to start prioritizing yourself.
Put yourself first. Always.
